Low Back Pain

Are you currently suffering from Low back pain? Has it become Chronic? How many times in the past year have you have had difficulty performing your job duties due to back pain, missed work or could not lift your child due to back pain? Guess what, you’re not alone. In the United States back pain ranks high among visits to the Medical Doctors office. You usually get a prescription and you’re sent on your way waiting for the pain to go away.

Back pain is typically a spinal movement problem, not a lack of medication problem. Chiropractic might be the solution.
I have been treating back pain for the past 16 years with Chiropractic care and these are the following management techniques that I hear new patients report when I ask “What are you doing to manage your back pain?
• I just deal with it
• I take a muscle relaxer
• I take Vicodin (an Opioid medication)
• I stretch
• I ice
• I use heat
This is just a short list of the types of self care that people try for their back pain. What I find interesting is that these people all have decided to give Chiropractic a try.
“Patients with chronic low-back pain treated by chiropractors showed greater improvement and satisfaction at one month than patients treated by family physicians. Satisfaction scores were higher for chiropractic patients. A higher proportion of chiropractic patients (56 percent vs. 13 percent) reported that their low-back pain was better or much better, whereas nearly one-third of medical patients reported their low-back pain was worse or much worse.”
